Credibility represents the status of each member relating to skills, level of seriousness or lack thereof, and business adaptability in
regard to beat making. Credibility is measured in the form of 6 weight classes including; Super Heavyweight, Heavyweight, Middleweight,
Not Weighted, V.I.P., and New Member.
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: - represents the elite and most talented producers at Greenhooks.com. These producers have demonstrated the highest
level of skills and have proven to be the best and most credible producers at Greenhooks.com. Always seek these producers FIRST when
acquiring for hot quality beat production.
HEAVYWEIGHT: - represents a member who has proven and displayed skills and has demonstrated a high level of desire and should be
considered amongst the top producers at Greenhooks.com. These are the producers with whom buyers should seek when acquiring for hot
quality beat production.
MIDDLEWEIGHT: - represents a member who has shown potential but has not yet demonstrated the skills or effort to crack the level of Heavyweight Status.
NOT WEIGHTED: - represents a member who has not competed or participated enough to be considered weighted at Greenhooks.com or one whom has demonstrated a below average level of production skills.
NEW MEMBER: - is given the benefit of the doubt as to their credibility status due to not being evaluated yet. BUT...After the first six
days...THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES.
V.I.P: - V.I.P. represents a knowledgeable music figure, industry mogul, or qualified
individual that has been appointed by Greenhooks.com to weigh in on battles and beat reviews and is trusted to give honest
unbiased feedback along with constructive criticism
for the overall good of the community.
There are 7 factors involved in determining a
producer's credibility. Each factor has it's OWN percentage of effect toward the
overall
evaluation process and is balanced to create the fairest assessment of each
members credibility status. These factors include the
following.
1. PRODUCERS RATING (15%)
The "Producers Rating" tells a lot about your skills without even listening to
your beats. It serves as an indicator of your talent
level as your peers have suggested through beat reviews. The "Producers Rating"
can be the deciding factor on whether one chooses to listen to your beats or
not. Because it is generated from the AVERAGE of at least 6 scored beats, it
reflects an impression of whether you got 'that fire' or not, at least, in
regard to a minimum of 6 beats. So, the 'Producer Rating' is a vital part in
determining your credibility status and should be established right away by
submitting at least 6 beats to the 'Beat Review Section'.
2. THE NUMBER OF BEATS REVIEWED (SCORED) (17%)
It ONLY takes 6 beat reviews to generate your 'Producer's Rating', which is a
vital factor in the credibility evaluation process,
HOWEVER 6 reviewed beats alone represents a small fraction of how you are
evaluated in terms of the 'number of beats that you have
reviewed'. Since 'the number of beats reviewed' is one of the 7 factors involved
in determining your credibility, it is
important to understand that it OUT WEIGHS your 'Producer's Rating' factor in
the overall evaluation process. In other words, the more
beats you have reviewed, regardless of how they are scored, will do more for
your credibility status than just having the bare minimum
of 6 reviewed beats for the sake of generating a 'producer's rating'. You are
allowed to have up to 50 beats reviewed so take the
advantage of the number one way to increase your credibility status.
3. NUMBER OF BEATS ON-SITE (12%)
The number of beats that you have uploaded is a crucial factor in determining
your credibility. It simply says a lot about the
dedication and level of work that you've put in. Simply put, this is pretty much
where your credibility begins to take effect and your
status begins to formulate. We don't discourage those whom choose to upload a few
beats but in terms of building credibility, the more beats
that you have, the better you can be truly evaluated in regard to what weight
you hold. You are allowed to upload up to 50 beats so
it's up to you to decide what enough beats is as our system (ACRS) will rate
you accordingly.
4. BATTLE RECORD (12%)
Competition is what brings the best out of you and at Greenhooks.com that's what
we seek to do. By competing, you not only allow
yourself more exposure, you show that you are confident, willing to prove, and
committed to being the best. Along with the friendly and fun nature, battling at
Greenhooks.com demonstrates just how good you are amongst the best. Even if
you're not the best, you can at least reduce the amount of people that are better
than you. For that reason, your battle record plays a part in evaluating your
credibility and where you stand as a beat maker or producer. You must have a
minimum of 3 battles before your battle record can be
factored into the equation. We encourage you to start and join battles on a
daily or weekly basis as you are allowed to UNLIMITED
battles. Don't shy away from battling for the fear of losing as winning isn't
everything, but wanting to is. Remember also, you can't
always be a winner, sometimes you have to lose to become something great.
5. PARTICIPATION (26%)
There is no real way of knowing where you stand as a beat maker or producer
without participating. Plain and simple, if there are any
characteristics of seriousness and desire, it'll be reflected in how you
participate. While you may find comfort in sitting back and
acquiring sells, contributing to the community better serves you as it is 'the
balance' that solidifies your credibility. So
participation is the most valuable factor in your overall credibility evaluation
process. Participation can merely be weighing in on
battles, reviewing beats, starting or joining battles, or simply logging in
everyday to show your face. Small efforts, but powerful in
terms of making the difference between increasing your credibility versus
settling for less.
6. REFERRERS (9%)
We can't go without recognizing those who refer other Beat Makers and Producers
to join our site. Those contributions are important to the growth of our
community
and reflect the characteristics of commitment and passion. So it's only right that we
reward
our members with the opportunity to boost their credibility as it factors in up to 9% of the overall
evaluation process. It's easy to get credit for referrers, all you have to do is recruit new members
(Beat Makers and Producers) and make sure that they
include you as the referrer when signing up.
7. BUSINESS ADAPTIBILITY (9%)
Being a complete beat maker or producer in the 21st Century not only involves
being rehearsed in managing and controlling your music in the digital age of
information technology, but also involves being knowledgeable in managing the
exchange of money through e-commerce solutions. While selling beats is a
integral part of Greenhooks.com, being able to adapt to our business portals
becomes important and therefore play a part in the evaluation process of
credibility, including our recommendation of using our e-commerce partner PayPal
as the method of transferring money. While our default GH Account is accessible
to our members, only those who use PayPal will inherit the maximum 9% increase
toward their credibility. To find out more about how easy it is to set up a
PayPal account go to their website www.PayPal.com.
ACRS - (Pronounced 'AY-KRES ) created by Parker
Lee Designs, is a scalable system that utilizes advanced
algorithm and logic to create more precise evaluations through the usage of
generated and formulated data. ACRS is a rating and feedback system which can
attest for ones level of accountability, trust, and commitment as well as verify
and define the degree of ones achievements by way of credibility status. It's the engine that balances the scales
between fair,
equal, and credible results.
Credits are basically points earned when you
VOTE ON A BATTLE or when you REVIEW A BEAT. It's that simple, there's no other
way to get credits besides those two ways just mentioned. Credits then can be
used to "start battles", "join battles", and "submit beats for
review". That's all that credits are used for. Every time you vote on a battle
in the Feedback & Voting Arena, you are given the amount of credits (displayed in the console above that battle type) for EACH battle
that you successfully "listen to all beats (at least 20 seconds)", "choose a winner", and "leave elaborate (detailed and descriptive) feedback. Reviewing a beat also earns you credits in the
same manner except you have to "answer 5 questions about the beat being reviewed
WITHOUT CONTRADICTION". Credits are reset back to zero after each evaluation
date (every 7 days) so you must repeat the cycle to continue obtaining credits
each week.
The Feedback & Voting Arena is the EXCLUSIVE area (surrounded in the black & green border on the home page) where ALL battles and beat reviews filter through upon being ready for votes and feedback. Each battle or beat to be reviewed remains in this area until it has acquired ALL it's set amount of votes or feedback before leaving to make room for the next battles or reviews in line (the queue). This creates a self manage cycle and assures that all battles and beats to be reviewed obtain fair and equal exposure for votes and feedback from their peers with whom ALSO desire the same fair, and equal exposure in the order in which they are ready. The Feedback & Voting Arena eliminates the need to seek voters because all whom wish to battle and get feedback THEMSELVES must FIRST acquire credits (from this arena ONLY) by voting and giving feedback to those ALREADY in the arena. Since battles and reviews are filter through this arena in the order in which they become available, you are allowed to TRACK YOUR BEAT to see when your beat is up for votes or reviews in the Feedback & Voting Arena. You may track these in your 'My Page' --> 'Activities' page.
Strikes are penalties assessed against members for violations or quality control issues. Strikes are generated automatically as well as
administered and can have a negative effect on a members credibility status by way of overall credibility score deductions. Strikes
generally will expire between 7 and 10 days but not before taking a de-grading effect on a members next evaluation. It is important to
understand the guidelines, rules and regulations of the site to avoid getting strikes against your account. Severity of strikes or
consecutive strikes can result in termination of your account.
Getting your beat reviewed is the number one way to build credibility. With 6 or more beats reviewed, you generate a 'Producers Rating',
which is a MAJOR element in the overall evaluation process. Without a 'Producers Rating', your credibility loses one-third of it's
overall weight. Also, the more beats that you have reviewed, the more you can increase your credibility because it too factors into the
overall evaluation process. Thirdly, getting your beat reviewed generates a beat 'score', which grants that beat more marketing,
accessibility, and site exposure.
The "Producers Rating" is the average score generated from 6 or more beats that have been reviewed by other weighted members. The
"Producers Rating counts up to 17% of a members overall credibility status.
The GH BEATMACHINE PLAYER is the site's GRAND music player for featuring exclusive beats of our members. Only the high scoring beats
will earn the the right to this exclusive exposure which guarantees that only certified tracks will rule the territories of this player.
And uniquely, we don't decide which beats gets featured...You do!
'MY PAGE' is a section of the site for you to manage your account. Here you can edit your profile, upload and edit beats, check all
your statistics, manage your finances and personal information, track battles and beat reviews, and more.
Click On The 'My Page' link to the right to get there.
This is a self promoting tool mainly for members to gain more exposure. Click the 'Shout it Out' button and you will be allowed to type
in your message. Afterwards your message will display in the shout-out-board with an accompanied link to your profile page. Say
whatever you want to say, but DON'T CURSE.
To upload your Mp3's, go to your 'My Page' and click on the 'upload your beat' link. Fill out the upload beat form THEN select your Mp3
file from YOUR COMPUTER. All uploaded beats must be between 3 and 5 minutes long and must NOT contain any vocals.
The accepted genre of music at greenhooks.com is describe as Urban And Hip Hop. This is NOT to limit you from being creative or to
discourage you from bringing new perspectives but is a way to ensure that our music and market is compatible. Regardless of how you
'freak' it, we only require that you keep the 'Hip' and the 'Hop' in it.
Categorizing your beat with the right STYLE is VERY IMPORTANT, not only as it is direct reflection of your producing skills, but as it
can adversely effect the way your beat is marketed and exposed.
There are currently 10 STYLES categorized under
this genre including; R&B, Club, Dirty South, East Coast, West Coast, Midwest,
Hard-core, Reggae, Old School, and New School. These are essentially familiar
STYLES that most recognize and can distinguish from. We're not saying that there
aren't other STYLES that can be considered nor are we going to try to define
each, and rightfully so, because uniquely the community does it for us.
This section of the site host all publicly displayed beats on Greenhooks.com. Here you will find the Title of tracks, the style type,
who made the beat, the type of license associated, the price, the beat score, whether it contains a sample or not, and a link to more
information about that beat. The green PLAY BUTTON can be clicked on to listen to the beat. This is a browsing area that makes finding
that perfect beat for your project much easier.
The Beat Report is a section of the 'beat page' which displays the statistical data about that beat. This report displays the 'score' of
the beat and the number of reviews in which the score was generated from. This report also displays the wins and losses of THAT beat
since each beat can accumulate it's OWN record by entering multiple battles. In the meantime, beats with losses display the link to the
last beat that it was defeated by, thereby exposing it to a potential 'hotter' track. The 'Plays' represent the number of times the beat
was played and only update one count per session in which it is played to create a more accurate assessment of the play count. The
'Plays' also update in battles ONLY when at least 20 seconds of that beat has been played.
Protecting the ownership and rights to your beat is our #1 mission. We offer a Beat Protection And Copyright Plan which
grants us access to register your beat with the U.S. Copyright Office through our Copyright Service. This plan is a
purchase plan that let's you submit up to 20 beats to be copy written AS WELL AS award you an upgraded Platinum Package membership (50
Beats/6 Months) at the same time as an all in one process.
The cost of this package is $99. You will receive confirmation on the status of your registration upon receipt.
Deleting beats are allowed but are highly discouraged due to the fact that you may be penalized if the deleted beat has been 'scored'
(Through The Beat Review Section) or battled tested (meaning having a win/loss record). This can subsequently effect your credibility in
a negative way for a certain amount of time because deleting a beat reflects a sign of 'avoiding the ill effects' of that beat's score
or battle record which must be considered when evaluating a producers credibility. Beats that are deleted that have NOT been 'scored' or
'battle tested' does NOT penalize you but can affect your credibility status in terms of how many beats you have on-site. We encourage
producers to allow the beat to expire or to be sold exclusively when possible to avoid any negative effects. We also ask that you ONLY
upload beats that you have confidence in and beats that you feel can stand the test of time or don't upload it at all.
The GH Account is the default account in which members can use to manage all their transactions which occur on Greenhooks.com. This
account allow members to add funds to their account and to withdraw money earned.
Money that you've earned from the sell of beats or through payments made to you by Greenhooks.com in the form of rewards or prizes, are
referred to as EARNED FUNDS. This money can be withdrawn at anytime, as long as you have at least $15 available of these EARNED FUNDS.
You must withdraw a minimum of $5. Also your personal information including your Name, mailing address, and tax method must be completed and filled out (My Page -->Person Info) before this withdrawal can be made. This
payment will be made to you within 7 to 14 days of the request. There are associated fees with this transaction including a 0.8% process
and handling fee and a $2.50 money order charge both which are deducted from your account balance or from your requested amount.
All members are allowed to upload up to 6 beats which will NOT expire and is represented and labeled as UNLIMITED under a FREE account.
Any other beats uploaded after that will have expiration dates on them in which they will expire and become inactive on that expiration
date. Those beats will ONLY be accessible in the members 'My Page / Beats' area where they can be re-activated within 10 days before
those beats and all it's records are deleted from the site.
Non-exclusive license can be sold as 'non-commercial use' or 'commercial use' depending on the permissions set by the producer in the
official license. Non-Exclusive 'non-commercial use' grants the
buyer unlimited use of the beat ONLY as non-profit, meaning you can't make money off of it's usage. Non-Exclusive 'commercial use' grants the buyer limited usage, including the rights to a maximum of 3000 profitable
distributions or the use for the duration of a 3 year time span, whichever comes first. All Non-Exclusive licenses can be
re-sold ONLY by the owner to multiple buyers as it is not exclusive to one buyer. All Non-Exclusive licenses sold grants the buyer with
royalty FREE usage meaning, no other fees will be owed to the seller after the initial purchase of the beat. The seller retains 100%
copyright ownership of the beat at all times and the buyer must display the seller as the producer or beatmaker of the beat whenever
credits are shown on any media type or promotional items containing that beat.
Exclusive license are sold EXCLUSIVELY to ONE buyer with the right to use 'commercially' and 'non-commercially' and without profitable
distribution limitations. Once a beat has been sold as 'Exclusive', the seller can not resell that beat to anybody else from that point
forward. Exclusive license can be sold as royalty FREE or may contain a royalty percentage of up to 50% and can also be sold with rights
to re-arrange track compositions, depending on the permissions set by the producer in the official license. The seller retains 100%
copyright ownership of the beat at all times and the buyer must display the seller as the producer or beatmaker of the beat whenever
credits are shown on any media type or promotional items containing that beat.
Royalty percentage shares represent the
percentage portion of ALL inherited royalties (including Mechanical,
Performance, Synchronization, Print, and Foreign) owed to the Copyright Owner by
the 'Song Writer' or 'Recording Artist' (whichever with the highest rate also
referred to as 'Shareholder') whom by the royalties are received as a result of
'Synchronization' at the the stated PERCENTAGE of the Shareholder's rate paid in
the same intervals in which royalties are received. This SHARE PERCENTAGE shall
remain as stated unless otherwise re-negotiated with the Copyright Owner under a
new agreement.
This simply is saying that if your beat is used in a project which has earned
royalties from the success of the collaborated song, you will be entitled to
receiving the percentage stated with the 'Songwriter' or 'Recording Artist',
whichever is receiving the most money. For example, if you sell the beat with a
50% share and the 'Songwriter' receives a check for $1000, and the 'Recording
Artist' receive a check for $800, you would be owed $500 by the 'Songwriter'
(50% of $1000) since the 'Songwriters has received the most between the two.
This is just a way to make sure that if you're beat goes big, you have
contracted yourself a portion of the success. Royalty FREE means that you are
selling your beat without any money being owed to you after the initial
purchase, regardless of the success that the beat acquires.
Props is a quick and dirty way to get and give feedback. This also is a convenient way to see how others are evaluating you on the fly. Be sure to log in to see your results. This is the first edition of this feature so look for more to come with it. Click the 'My Props' Tab to see your latest results.
Greenhooks.com's Voice Tag has been added as an OPTION of use to each producer. While Voice Tags have been debatable, Producer's can choose to use the default Voice Tag or not on any or all of your own beats. Voice Tag is the voice over the beat used as a measure to protect beats from theft and piracy. All beats are sold WITHOUT voice tags. Voice Tags are options selected upon uploading your beat or may be edited in: (My Page - Beats - Info. - Beat Edit) where you may change the status at anytime. The beat machine player on the homepage by default will contain a voice tag on all beats. A Valuable Feature.
